Maddie and Daniel met on Hinge in summer of 2023. Their first date was at Shimogamo, a sushi restaurant, on July 11, 2023. They would return there for birthdays, Valentine's Day, and that is where both sets of parents met for the first time. On their first date they talked about children, predestination, and life goals. On their second date, Daniel asked Maddie if he could go to church with her and the next day they attended Pella Communities together as a couple.

Both Maddie and Daniel appreciate how adventurous the other person is. They love road trips, meeting new people, board games, cooking together, and enjoy the Arizona sunshine. Maddie admires Daniel's servant heart and Daniel values Maddie's intelligence and playful nature. They seek to serve the Lord and want their marriage to fulfill God's mission for them.
